USA is having world’s largest Gold Reserve with 4700 tones. In monetary terms it is of 14 trillion US dollars in the international market it is listed for official purposes. It is 1/20th of the international market price. It is a strange fact for all of us to know that the gold is valued only at the rate of 42.5 $/ounce. Where as the current market price is $ 850/ ounce.
The largest Gold Reserve Treasure Fort at Fort Knox. According to the information from the US Department of the Treasury the present holding of Gold at Fort Knox is 47.3 million ounces (i.e.4700 tones). This is stored in the form of 368000 gold bars of 400 troy ounces or 27.5 pounds of weight. The largest quantity of gold held in this century had been 649.6 million ounces (18000 tones) in 1941; a quantity is enough to make 20 Statues of Liberty of Pure Gold. Each month, a rotating team of Treasury Auditors count every bar in the vault and post audit reports on the site.
